On Wilder Seas Daily Design Challenge || #owsdailydesign

So as you see (by reading the caption above), I started a fun creative challenge the beginning of April to push myself beyond my creative comfort zone. It has been a challenge (which was kind of the point of the whole thing), but also a boatload of fun.

Below are a few more of my favorite pieces from my challenge thus far:

books and books and books || PART II

There are so many good quotes about books out there. And while I tried to pick some of the best ones, I may have missed a few. So if you have a favorite quote (or even book), let me know and I'll add the quote (or book) to my list.

This post covers QUOTES ABOUT BOOKS

QUOTES ABOUT BOOKS

"I had always the same certainty of finding a book that was new to me as a man who walks into a field has of finding a new blade of grass."
C. S. Lewis

"There are two perfumes to a book. If a book is new, it smells great. If a book is old, it smells even better."
Ray Bradbury

"I want to be the girl that always has a book under her arm."
C.S. Lyon, She Saw the World

"You can’t hold a computer in your hand like you can a book. A computer does not smell. There are two perfumes to a book. If a book is new, it smells great. If a book is old, it smells even better. It smells like ancient Egypt. A book has got to smell. You have to hold it in your hands and pray to it. You put it in your pocket and you walk with it. And it stays with you forever. But the computer doesn't do that for you. I’m sorry."
Ray Bradbury

"Fill your house with stacks of books, in all the crannies and all the nooks."
Dr. Seuss

The things I want to know are in books; my best friend is the man who'll get me a book I ain't read.
Abraham Lincoln

“The man who does not read good books, has no advantage over the man who cannot read them.”
Mark Twain

“There is more treasure in books than in all the pirates’ loot on Treasure Island…and best of all you can enjoy these riches every day of your life.”
Walt Disney

“Master those books you have. Read them thoroughly. Bathe in them until they saturate you. Read and re-read them…digest them…a student will find that his mental constitution is more affected by one book thoroughly mastered than by 20 books he has merely skimmed.”
Charles Spurgeon

“If we encounter a man of rare intellect we should ask him what books he reads.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

The definition of a good book: “The true question to ask respecting a book is, ‘has it help’d any human soul.”
The 1869 Librarian of Congress

“Many times the reading of a book has made the future of a man.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid.”
Jane Austen, Northanger Abbey

There is no friend as loyal as a book.”
Ernest Hemingway

wandering and wondering - muses

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6

This week's compilation of images represents the very wandering and wondering thoughts that have taken residence in my mind these last months.

I am wondering, and questioning, just about everything. I question my school options and current journey down the academic track. I question my current career and job pursuits, and wonder about what I should be doing and what I will do once I graduate. I question and wonder about people and human nature, and that ever-complicated and involving thing called relationships.

Just a whole lot o' thinking and musing going on in this head of mine. Which b'y, is not helpful when you must study and take finals... Ah well.

I shall hopefully be posting some more helpful and interesting posts in the coming months. Must survive finals, and then we shall see where I am at.

to be alive is a grand thing.
