Let's BE the Difference - January, National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month

January is the National Slavery and Human Trafficking Awareness month (or simply dubbed, Human Trafficking Month), and the time has come again for us to encourage other to learn about, and share with others, the atrocious forms of social injustice happening worldwide. Although January is the prescribed month to spread the word about human trafficking, we should really be religiously advocating the end of human trafficking throughout the entire year (and not just in January).

I started a group on Facebook about 3 years ago to spread added awareness about the designated National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention month of January. The mission, through starting the group, is to educate others about the atrocious forms of social injustice happening worldwide, and to encourage and equip organizations to combat such forms of injustice!

There are so many forms of violence that take place daily worldwide. You may think well, what can I do about that? And surprisingly, there's more you can do than you'd imagine

>> One the most important things you can do, RIGHT NOW, is get educated!

      a. Understand the different forms of social injustice and why they happen
      b. Learn about and support local, national, and international organizations that stand up against those forms of injustice
      c. learn what are the root causes for such crimes (such as violence, and men's hearts)
      d. Learn about the hard facts of human trafficking and sexual exploitation

As soon as you start learning, begin to share what you know with your friends, family, co-workers, and those around you! You'd be surprised how many people don't even know that human trafficking exists. But there are more people trafficking and exploited worldwide than ever before, estimating over 29.8 million people. That's a number we NEED to get out there and share with others.
