A Christmasy Feel

These past two weeks have been quite busy, as you can tell by the lack of posts. Finals are almost finished and Christmas break is just around the corner! I simply cannot wait. It has been so hard to stay focused when there is Christmas shopping to do, presents to tie up in paper and string, halls to deck, carols to sing, and people to love. I have had just the hardest time staying focused, and at this moment am procrastinating on writing my final essays for my Lit class.

Christmas break, just two days away. Oh the joys of having nothing to do but read books (of the multiple-read variety), create away (as I have many lovely things to create at this time of year, some of which will be up on the blog), sleep in, make yummy foods (as I rarely have time during the school year), and do all the sorts of things that you do when procrastinating except now you won't feel bad about it. Yes, Christmas break certainly cannot come soon enough!

What are you looking forward to doing this Christmas break (including celebrating Christmas!)?

Christmasy Blessings,

Highland Fling - Victoria Magazine

Ahh, Highland Fling is the perfect phrase to describe what I feel in this wandering heart of mine. My word, I can't tell you just how much I want to travel to far off places. Namely, Scotland. I want to roam the grassy hills, take great gulps of the fresh Scottish air, and just live in that rich culture and place.

This is Sir Walter, my newest edition.
What?, you may ask, sparked this Scotland desire. Well it all started when I was just a wee little thing. For some reason, I found inspire and joy (dare I say) in the idea of Scotland. Of course, at the time I really didn't know what Scotland was but I did have an inkling of what I thought it was. My real wanderlust really started with Ireland, but slowly moved to Scotland. And there it resides. So, back to my tale. As I got older (or approached the age I am at now ), my desire to travel to Scotland became more than just a wanderlust for the land itself. I started to develop a passion for learning the language (Scottish-Gaelic), and soon that turned into a yearning to know the people of Scotland, to delve into the rich culture it offered, and to appreciate that very different land from my own. My dream is still to travel to Scotland one day. And if I achieve a level of fluency in Gaelic, I would love to converse with the people of Scotland that still speak Scottish-Gaelic.  And presently, I actually have a wonderful opportunity to travel to Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and England with People to People Ambassador Programs in the summer of 2013. However I will need to raise a lot of funds before I can embark on that adventure (but that is another blog post).

The main point of this post is to share with you a few photos I took of some of the glorious pictures taken for Victoria Magazine's special on Scotland.  Have a look, and sigh.

Imbued for centuries with legend and lore, the magical land of Scotland offers a captivating doorway to both the past and the present. Visitors can explore historic landmarks and battlefields, elegant country estates, and ancient lochs and glens or enjoy Edinburgh’s myriad urban delights, such as world-class restaurants, prestigious galleries and theatres, and the famed Grassmarket shopping district.

Do You Have a Question? - Updating my FAQ

Hello dear bloggers,

I am updating my FAQ page this week, and I would like to know if you have any questions for me.  I have been so blessed in my life, and I thought why not pour a little into yours. From interning with photographer Jewel and shooting wedding guestbooks, to writing for the HSLDA blog and starting my own business, there have been many who have guided me and walked alongside me through it all.

So what would you like to know? About photography, blogging, designing, singing, reading, writing,  you name it? I do not profess to know much, for I don't. But I do hope to help you out in any way possible with any question you might have.

You can either comment down below or shoot me an email.

Blessings,

On Wilder Seas - tumblr blog

I started a tumblr blog, called On Wilder Seas, September 2011 I believe. On Wilder Seas is a compilation of photographs and quotes that inspire me to live an audacious life. . Oh, “to dare more boldly, To venture on wilder seas, Where storms will show [His] mastery; Where losing sight of land, We shall find the stars” (Sir Francis Drake). Tumblr, along with Pinterest, is a sort of community where I can be inspired in my walk with Christ, and inspired in my aesthetic musings. A place to grow in the beauty of the Lord.

Do you have a Tumblr or Pinterest, or both? Tell me about them! What was your reason for starting one.
