Merry Blessed Christmas

Merry Christmas!

I pray this Christmas you found much joy, and that you learn more and more of Christ's amazing love.

"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, 'Fear not: for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.' And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.'" That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown."

Peace, peace

My little brother. {old photo}.
Can you believe Christmas is just around the corner? 5 days and counting. My goodness, how time flies.

The other day I was reminiscing of when I was a little girl. On the very first day of December, mom and my older sisters would put up the decorations. And as soon as the stockings were up, the rest of the kids [of course including myself] would fill them with all manner of wonderful, childish gifts. From a bouncy ball or a stick of gum, to a mini deck of cards or a precious photo; it was all there. On Christmas Eve, our dad would read us just about every Christmas book we owned. We would hear the same beloved stories about the wise men, the three trees on the hill, Jotham's journey and the little drummer boy.  The story we loved the most was the Christmas story, of Jesus' birth. Of how, so many years ago, God sent down His only Son to be made man and die for our sins. What a precious story.

I miss those times dreadfully. So carefree, such a beautiful child-like joy. Yet, although some of us our gone and we may not have the same house, the memories and joy of those Christmas still remain with me forever.

Although life is different, time goes one and there are a million and one things to do before Christmas day, one can still find peace and that child-like joy in our Saviour. Peace that the Angels sang about.

"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill to men!"
Luke 2:14

We all long for peace on earth. For our economy to be revived, for there to be no more wars, no more pain, no more slavery or crimes. But this verse [Luke 2:14] doesn't say peace on earth, it says  peace, goodwill to men. Peace is available to those who believe. No there will never be, I believe, complete peace on earth. But in the hearts of His beloved children, God gives peace. This verse is an invitation to everyone to find peace in the Saviour, in the little babe born among men. God incarnate came to die for our sins so that we may have eternal, everlasting life with Him. True peace and Joy.

So although you think those blessed years of joy and peace are gone forever, come to back to the story of the baby born that Christmas night so very long ago and find peace, and real, true and pure joy

Will you join me in finding peace and joy in our Saviour?

May you have a joyful and peaceful Christmas in our Saviour!
